CPH Officer’s Dog Bites Deputy’s Son

A California Highway Patrol Officer’s pit bull got loose earlier this week and bit the young child of a neighbor; an Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy. The deputy was spending some time with family outside, when the dog suddenly came up and bit his son’s left arm.

The pit bull then headed toward the deputy’s younger daughter, so the deputy pulled his handgun out and shot the dog. Both the officer, and the deputy felt a great misfortune for each other’s sufferings in the incident.  Neither party will be pressing charges.

This incident is sad and somewhat controversial. Dog bites are always unexpected, but more can be done to prevent them from happening.
