A young woman was arrested on suspicion of felony Driving under the influence causing injury and felony hit-and-run causing injury. According to the OC Register, Aya Ibish, of Laguna Beach, struck a bicyclist in Costa Mesa late Tuesday evening and fled the scene. The cyclist suffered from some lacerations and possibly a lower-leg fracture – he was able to give a description of the car that hit him to the officers at the scene. We, here at Silverthorne Attorneys, have seen cases very similar to this. One where the driver was under the influence of alcohol, fled the scene of an accident and due to the defendants wealth and political connections, they were able to avoid prosecution. Which is why it is important to seek advice and counsel from an attorney shortly after your accident. Even if you think you may not have a case, we always encourage you to consult with an attorney after an accident. Every consultation is free. We did, however recover a very nice settlement for our client – who was able to make a full recovery from their injuries.
