Numerous 911 Calls Received
A California Highway Patrol sergeant related that numerous 911 calls came in regarding a man driving a golf cart along the shoulder of the 210 freeway. Officers with the CHP caught up with the driver after he exited the freeway.
DUI Arrest Leads to Bail Set at $5,000
At the time, officers determined that he was showing signs of possible intoxication. Therefore, he was put under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. According to inmate data maintained by the L.A. Sheriff’s Department. He was kept in jail overnight in lieu of posting the required $5,000 bail.
Possible Rose Bowl Golf Cart
The spokesperson for the CHP stated that the golf cart bore Rose Bowl markings. However, the preliminary investigation had not yet established whether the man will face further charges for stealing the golf cart.
Although the freeway incident did not result in personal injuries, it does allegedly underscore the lapses in judgement that are possible when a person gets behind the wheel while intoxicated.
