Woman Dies in Apartment Fire

As a Laguna Niguel accident attorney, we see so many cases come through our office. What we want you to know is, suffering from injuries due to the negligence of another is never your fault.

A 78-year-old woman died after she was pulled from a fire in her building in Hyde Park. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the woman was rescued from a unit of a two-story apartment building and was transported to a nearby hospital. She arrived in critical condition and succumbed to her  injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Five units suffer from burn damage. Investigators are continually looking into how and where the fire originated and it is unclear if the units had functional smoke alarms. There were no reports of other injuries in the accident.

As we reported a few weeks ago, having functional smoke alarms can make a huge difference when it comes to life and death situations.
